This Web site has been designed to share the information that was disseminated at this conference which we attended in Toronto, Ontario, on October 28-29, 2010. We had the privilege of listening to two Canadian critics of online culture who explored various aspects of new technologies and education. Jesse Brown is an award-winning journalist who is also the co-creator of the Web 2.0 application Bitstrips that has been licensed for Ontario teachers by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Marc Saltzman is a technological expert and freelance journalist; he's a regular presence on CNN, and he's the guy who gives the tech report before the movie in major Canadian Cinemas. Between the two of us, we attended ten different workshops sessions, each of which explored a new and exciting practical application of emerging technologies that could be used in the classroom to improve student engagement and literacy while gaining what are considered 21st Century Skills.
